Monday to Saturday: 9:00 to 17:00.
Late Arrivals
If you are going to be arriving at the base late, please call the base manager, Yvan Halsberghe, on his mobile phone – Tel: 0032 495 24 32 95 and he will arrange to meet you. The port closes at 17:00 and there is no access to the jetty without a special code and key, which the base manager has. You will be able to stay on board your boat in the evening and a full briefing will take place the following morning.

Mobile Phones
In Belgium most of the locks and bridges are manned. Some of the bridge keepers operate several bridges and may not be on their bridge at the time of your arrival. To get around Brugge, you have to get in touch by phone with the people who operate the whole system of bridges and locks around Brugge from a central control.
If you do not have your own mobile phone or have
a phone, which does not workabroad, you can rent one at the base.
Costs: €100 deposit, €15 per week. You must pay for the cost of all calls.
The base will supply the phone with cards and the credit on the card is checked at departure and arrival. You will be asked to pay on return for what has been used.

Gent accept the following credit cards for payment of Security/Fuel Deposit, Damage Waiver and Optional Extras: Visa, MastercardPlease Note: In Belgium you can pay with credit cards in restaurants, hotels, shops and some of the big supermarket chains, but not in smaller supermarkets and grocery stores.

By Road:
From England or France: Follow signs to Calais/Dunkerque – E40 direction Belgium/Brugge. Follow exit NR355 Nieuwpoort /Diksmuide direction Nieuwpoort N39. At first traffic lights, turn right, direction Nieuwpoort stad. At second traffic lights, drive straight on. At third traffic lights, turn right, direction Oostende. Follow the sign Binnenhaven up to traffic lights. Turn right, direction Lombardsijde/Westende N318 and turn right again after only 50m direction Oudenburg N358 (keeping monument of King Albert I at your right). About 200 meters further, cross the bridge and turn left, direction Oudenburg N358. Follow this road about 1 km and you will see the base at your left.
From Zeebrugge to base: Leave Zeebrugge direction Brugge (N31) up to the junction A10-E40/A17. Take A10-E40 direction Oostende. Veurne up to the junction A18/A10. Take A18 direction of Veurne. Leave A18 at exit 5 (Gistel/Oostende Airport) and drive direction Oostende on the N33. After about 2 km take direction Nieuwpoort. You are on the N358 along the Canal Plassendale-Nieuwpoort. After about 10 km, you drive over the bridge above the Sint-Joris lock, and after 100 m, turn right to the base.
From Brussels: Following the E40 through Gent – Brugge. After Brugge at Jabbeke following the E40 direction – Veurne/Nieuwpoort. At the exit NR355 direction of Nieuwpoort/Diksmuide direction Nieuwpoort N39 – see above.
