Canal du Midi in October – “very good time of year”
Travelled on the Canal Du Midi from Castelnaudaray to Trebes in October 2008 and found this to be a very good time of year as the weather was OK (mostly fine with some overnight rain) and the canal was not too busy. Bram was our first overnight and it was a lovely little village. Next overnight was Carcassonne - a much larger place with lots to see and good mooring facilities (showers and washing machines). Last night at Trebes where facilities are limited but still a village worth visiting.

Migennes, Burgundy – “one of France’s best kept secrets”
“We cruised South on the Yonne and Canal du Nivernais. The combination of river and canal was idyllic. Considering that we were there at a peak holiday time the waterways were very quiet and the locks uncongested. All the lock keepers were very helpful and friendly. Very easy to get to from the UK. The East Burgundy region is very scenic and varied. For my group it was one of Frances best kept secrets and a region we plan on returning to in the future.”

Spectacular trip from Le Mas D’Agenais to Agen
Trip from Le Mas D'Agenais to Agen was spectacular. The flight of locks to the canal across the Garronne superb. We then returned to Le Mas and cruised up to Fontet where we visited the Matchstick Museum. These are excellent. The viewpoint at Malehan was worth the climb. Altogether a really lovely holiday

A lovely route through Ireland without too many locks
We travelled north from Ballinamore to Enniskillen. This was a lovely route without too many locks. Overall, an excellent experience and we thoroughly enjoyed the Penichette, a very comfortable, well designed and well equipped boat. Your staff provided a friendly, helpful service whenever we phoned. We also liked the virtual tour of the boats on the website. The Navigation Guide was excellent and absolutely worth the money, and the Captain's Handbook was most informative and amusing as well.

Website – easy to use
Impressed with the web site - ease of use and the variety of different routes with relevant photographs. Also liked the facility to view the interior of the boats. It helped us make our decisions on where to go easier - and the holiday lived up to expectations. Staff on the telephone in England very helpful.

Where to next?
From Banagher to Devenish Island on Lower Loch Erne, then back to edge of Loch Derg, returning to Banagher. Best part was the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell Canal. Guess we are canal boaters at heart. Done the Shannon. France next.
