Monday to Saturday 08.00 to 17.30.
Sunday: Closed

Late Arrivals

Normal takeover time is 14.00 to 17.00. If you are going to arrive later please phone the boatyard (01809510234) where the duty engineer will tell you where your boat is and arrange to meet you. You will be given a full briefing the following morning.

When To Arrive:

Your boat will be ready to depart for 16:00 - 18:00. We recommend that you arrive 60 minutes earlier for check-in and instructions.

If you have booked an Early Check-in Service, please arrive at the base ready to depart between 11am and 12pm or from 2pm.

Your Return

Your boat should be returned and unoccupied by 9am on your last cruising day (or by midday if you have booked a Late Check-out).

Upon Arrival:

Our base staff look forward to welcoming you to their cruising region and aim to make your arrival and holiday as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

When you arrive or base staff will:

  • Take a fuel deposit to cover the fuel you use during your holiday. Any extra fuel used will be charged on your return or we will refund the difference for fuel you have not used.
  • Take a refundable collision damage deposit – if you have not purchased collision damage waiver. This will be refunded if you return your boat and its inventory undamaged at the end of your holiday
  • Familiarise you with your waterways guide, maps and other helpful documentation provided to help you plan where you want to go and where you’d like to stop.
  • Brief you about your boat, the equipment on board, and the cruising area (places to visit, etc).
  • Give you a boat handling demonstration on the water with one of our technicians.

There are small supermarkets at Fort Augustus, Spean Bridge and Drumnadrochit, and large superstores in Inverness and Fort William. The local shop is the Seven Heads Store.

By Road

Directions

From the South: From Fort William take the A82 towards Inverness. Continue through Spean Bridge, and after 13 miles (20km) you will cross a swing bridge over the canal. Take the first left, signposted Kilffinnan, Balmagaster. Travel 1.5.miles (2.5km) along this road, which is single track with passing places and look down to your left. You will see “A” framed wooden chalets, turn sharp left just after the chalets at the bottom of the hill, crossing over a cattle grid. Pass in front of the chalets with the Loch on your right, and follow the road into the boatyard car park.

From the North: On the A82 travelling from the north, approximately 3 miles(5km) south of Invergarry, 200 metres after The Well of the Seven Heads shop, take the road on the right signposted Kilffinnan and Balmagaster. Travel 1.5 miles(2.5km) along this road, which is single track with passing places, and look down to your left. You will see ‘A’ framed wooden chalets, turn sharp left at the bottom of the hill just after the chalets crossing over a cattle grid. Pass in front of the chalets with the loch on your right, and follow the road into the boatyard car park.
